The Team Behind MYRIAD

MYRIAD is built and run by a small independent publishing team with experience operating data-driven and news websites for readers across more than a dozen countries and languages. The same team is accountable for the product, source pipeline, editorial standards and corrections.

Editorial responsibility

The editor sets the editorial policy, reviews flagship essays, audits samples of machine-assisted pages against the underlying datasets and answers correction reports. Advertising and partnerships do not determine which figures appear or how countries rank. Confirmed corrections are checked against a named primary source and versioned before publication.

Data and engineering

The data-engineering role maintains the country-by-decade grid assembled from the UN, World Bank, Maddison Project, NCD-RisC, Barro–Lee and Our World in Data. Automated checks reject missing sources, invalid page structures and narrative drafts whose figures do not match the page's own fact sheet. Monitoring checks scheduled jobs, public pages and error records; recoverable content changes retain a previous version.

How automation is used

Programmatic pages begin with deterministic tables, charts and citations generated from the dataset. Language models may help draft or refine explanatory prose, but they do not supply the measurements. Numeric claims must pass the verification rule described in our editorial policy. Pages below the quality threshold remain excluded from search indexing rather than being published as thin answers.

Reach a responsible person

MYRIAD does not hide corrections behind a ticketing portal. The addresses on the contact page reach the operating team directly; correction reports receive priority. For data reuse, include the relevant page or CSV. For a suspected error, include the page URL, country, decade and primary-source link when available.
